It’s not uncommon for a very successful sports franchise to begin to attract celebrity fans as they climb to new heights. When a team is loaded with stars or finds itself continually in the spotlight, it’s natural for other famous persons to want to hop on the bandwagon and see if they can share in that limelight or experience some benefit of the association.

Or maybe they just want to seem cool, as if they were fans all along.

What’s clear about Jeff Probst, the host of CBS’ long-running reality show Survivor, is that he’s a legitimate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. While we’re fine with fans joining Chiefs Kingdom at any time, there’s a credibility that comes with liking them when the chips were down, and Probst certainly qualifies for that category.

What’s fun is to see Probst’s own wink toward Chiefs Kingdom when discussing “Super Fans” for a CBS promo. The purpose of the recent post on Twitter was to search for and identify fans of various CBS shows, but in the process of speaking about being passionate for a cause, there is Probst in his own Chiefs jersey.

We appreciate the extra touch that it’s a Jerick McKinnon jersey at that. (Or maybe it’s Mike Adamle? Or Bob Grupp?) If he’s repping McKinnon, that’s a sweet jersey used at just the right time given how on fire he’s been for the Chiefs out of the backfield.

For those who might want to doubt Probst’s fandom, just know he’s a Wichita native who has been clear about his fandom in years past.

In addition, here he is meeting Clark Hunt’s daughter, Gracie, who is a huge fan of the show.

Perhaps it’d be cool if Probst was somehow able to snuff out the torch of the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday with the phrase, “The Mahomes has spoken.” Or something like that.
