The Kansas City Chiefs had a bit of a slow start on Sunday night but eventually coasted to a 42-21 playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Once the offense finally got going they reeled off six straight touchdowns, including 35 unanswered points at one point. Going into the game everyone expected the Chiefs to be able to comfortably handle Pittsburgh and while it didn’t happen as quickly as expected, the end result was there.

So what exactly can we take away from this game? Should we be worried about the slow start? Should we completely discredit what the Chiefs did in this game just because the opponent wasn’t as good as what KC will likely face the rest of the way? I’m a firm believer in not getting too high or too low after one game, but I do think there were several encouraging signs in this game that KC can hopefully build off of.

The Chiefs are going to have their hands full next week as the Buffalo Bills come to town fresh off of a 47-17 beatdown of the New England Patriots. While we all were hoping for the Chiefs to get a first-round bye, the plus side of playing in the Wild Card round is you have a chance to get some momentum. Hopefully, the slow start to this game is out of their system and they can build off of the following positives and hit the ground running against the Bills.

Let’s start this off with what is always K.C.’s most important piece.
