Darius Stills, DL

Played college ball at: West Virginia

Played professionally with: Las Vegas Raiders

Darius Stills is a 24-year-old defensive line prospect who went unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft after finishing up his career with the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was a Consensus All-American in 2020, WVU’s first since 2006, and he was also named the Big 12’s Defensive Lineman of the Year. Despite the accolades, he went undrafted and ultimately accepted a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders to try to make the team as a priority free agent.

This summer, the Raiders liked him enough to keep him around through training camp, which is more than most rookie free agents, but he ended up getting injured and was let go at the end of August.

The Chiefs now pick up Stills as an intriguing lineman who played at a very high level in college but came with a few significant hurdles to making it in the pros because of his lack of length and size. As a top-heavy yet smaller interior lineman, teams are going to see a limited ceiling and likely dismiss him from there for more projectable bodies. That said, he’s explosive off the line and his experience will make him an intriguing player to watch as the offseason goes on.

Interestingly, Darius is the son of former Chiefs player Gary Stills, so longtime fans will love the generational connections here.
