The Kansas City Chiefs officially wrapped their 2021 regular season schedule, and with the completion of the majority of the rest of the NFL’s slate, we can now know exactly who the team will be visiting (and hosting) next fall.

The NFL will unveil their 2022 regular season schedule with all kinds of pomp and circumstance later this spring during its annual post-draft reveal. For now, however, we can know the opponents even if we don’t know when things will happen (and certainly these teams will all look very different after a full offseason to alter their rosters).

Despite the incomplete nature of looking ahead, it’s still fun to think about future matchups and see how tough things might be. For example, the Bengals just beat the Chiefs at home in Week 17 and will host the Chiefs again. While rosters will change, they will still have Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase and that’s an easy call for another close contest for the Chiefs in 2022.

Let’s take a look at the 2022 slate of opponents for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Like they do every year, the Chiefs will see six games on the schedule taken up by their AFC West rivals, with one home game and one away game apiece for the L.A. Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Denver Broncos.

From there, each franchise plays through a complete division on a rotating basis from each conference. In 2022, that means the Chiefs will play through the entire AFC South and the NFC West (which should really create some intriguing matchups).

The Chiefs will also play the first-place teams in the remaining divisions they are not already scheduled to play, which is why you’ll see the Bengals on the schedule once again in ’22. With the 17th game addition, the Chiefs are also dealt another first-place opponent as the “extra” game, this time from the opposite conference. For 2022, this will be the road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Here is the complete list of opponents who will visit Arrowhead Stadium in 2022:

  1. Buffalo Bills
  2. Denver Broncos
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars
  4. Los Angeles Chargers
