The Kansas City Chiefs might have lost their grip on the top seed in the AFC, but don’t tell that to Las Vegas oddsmakers. They are still firm believers in the Chiefs’ chances as they have them as the most favored team to still make and win the Super Bowl from their entire conference.

At this point, the NFC is favored over the AFC thanks to the brilliance of the Green Bay Packers, but according to our friends at WynnBET, the Chiefs are the best bet after Aaron Rodgers and company. Per oddsmakers, that actually sets up a favored matchup of Packers vs. Chiefs for all the marbles.

The timing of these odds is interesting since the Chiefs are currently at No. 2 overall and could slide all the way to No. 4 in the conference playoff picture if they somehow lose to the Denver Broncos on the road in Week 18. The Chiefs ‘ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 cost them the AFC’s No. 1 seed and first-round bye, which was gladly picked up by the Tennessee Titans.

The Chiefs lost the top seed, but they’re still expected to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl per oddsmakers.

The Titans have the conference’s best record and they close the season with a lopsided game against the Houston Texans, so there’s every reason to believe they will hang onto their top seed at this stage. From there, the Chiefs will still need to beat the Broncos to hang onto a home game in the Wild Card round or else they could be passed by the Bengals and/or the Buffalo Bills in the final week of the season.

The lowest seed the Chiefs could get would be No. 4 overall by nature of their win of the AFC West.

Right now, the Bills are No. 2 in the AFC in terms of odds to make the Super Bowl followed by the Titans, Patriots, Colts, and then Bengals. Here’s the official list and current odds. (All odds listed come courtesy of WynnBET.)

  1. Kansas City Chiefs +175
  2. Buffalo Bills +280

  7. L.A. Chargers +2000
  8. Las Vegas Raiders +5000
