Omari Cobb, New York Giants

There was a point not so long ago when Cobb looked like a linebacker prospect favored by the coaching staff. Signed shortly after the 2020 NFL Draft as a rookie free agent out of Marshall, Cobb came into the league with a whopping 37 tackles for loss in his four seasons in the MAC and the Chiefs were enamored enough with his potential to not only keep him around during that ’20 preseason but they stashed him away on the practice squad for the rest of the year.

Coming into this season, Cobb was a holdover on the offseason roster and looked like he might be able to push for a fringe roster spot with Willie Gay’s injury. Darius Harris won out instead (along with Dorian O’Daniel), which sent Cobb to the practice squad again. However, two weeks later he was waived and the Giants signed him instead. He’s been there most of the season until he was recently released by New York, however they’ve added him once again with two weeks to go in the season.
