Patrick Mahomes continues to shine on the field, as well as off the field in another feel-good story by the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. The latest chapter comes from the fact that he hooked up Aaiden Diggs, the son of Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs, with a signed jersey for Christmas.

The story was featured during NBC’s telecast of Sunday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Football Team.

If you watched HBO’s Hard Knocks with the Dallas Cowboys this past fall, you will know that Aaiden was featured a lot on the show and he mentioned Mahomes a couple of times during the series. In the jersey, Mahomes wrote to Aaiden, “Keep being the star you are. Can’t wait to see you in the NFL one day.”

After receiving shoutouts on HBO’s Hard Knocks, Patrick Mahomes hooked up Trevon Diggs’ son with a signed jersey for Christmas.

On the third episode of Hard Knocks, the cameras followed Trevon and Aaiden Diggs. Aaiden was asked what jersey he brought with him to training camp. Aaiden held up four fingers, indicting Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s jersey. When Trevon asked whose jersey that is, he replied “Patrick Mahomes.”

On the final episode of Hard Knocks, Aaiden said Prescott is his favorite quarterback and wanted to meet him. Prescott surprised Aaiden and hung out with him during the season finale of Hard Knocks. When Prescott approached Aaiden, Aaiden asked if he was Mahomes. Prescott laughed and replied, “You think I’m Patrick Mahomes still?” After a moment, Aaiden replied, “I mean, not Patrick Mahomes, you’re Dak Prescott?” Prescott told Aaiden, “You can’t keep getting me and Patrick confused.”

This part was not mentioned on NBC’s telecast. So if you are wondering why Mahomes sent Aaiden a signed jersey, it probably has a lot to do with his appearance and mentioning Mahomes multiple times on the show.

Certainly a nice feel-good story, especially since it involves a quarterback and the son of a player from another team. If Trevon Diggs ever ended up in Kansas City, it’s safe to say Aaiden would approve of it since Mahomes would finally be his recognizable teammate.
