The K.C. Chiefs now have sole possession of the AFC’s No. 1 seed after a thrilling weekend of things going right for Andy Reid’s team.

On Thursday, Kansas City beat the Chargers in overtime on the road to move to 10-4 and put themselves within striking distance of the first seed. Then, the Indianapolis Colts took care of business Saturday night and took down the New England Patriots which knocked them down to the No. 2 seed. Finally, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Tennessee Titans late, who held the tie-breaker over the Chiefs, to make them 9-5, thus falling below Kansas City in the standings.

All of the dominoes fell just right for Kansas City who most of us thought, at one point, could only finish as a Wild Card at best. At least, I think you would be kidding yourself if you didn’t say there was a little bit of doubt at one point whether the Chiefs would win the division let alone lead the AFC.

With that being said, the Chiefs now own the top spot once again assuming they win out the rest of the season. It’s easier said than done, but the schedule certainly stacks up favorably for the Chiefs.

Let’s take a closer look at their last few opponents to close out the regular season and how they compare.
