L’Jarius Sneed

This injury really hurts for what it means both on and off the field for team and player.

L’Jarius Sneed is one of the most dynamic players for the Chiefs defense for a number of reasons—from his toughness as a tackler to his stickiness in coverage to his versatility to play the run and serve as a solid blitzer for Steve Spagnuolo. He’s a chess piece for Spags to use like Tyrann Mathieu and he’s still growing as a second-year defensive back with an incredibly high ceiling.

Unfortunately, Sneed’s brother was stabbed last week in a tragic murder and the news took him back home to Louisiana over the weekend. Word is that he’s back in Kansas City but head coach Andy Reid stated that Sneed would be out for this game on a short week just as he was out against the Raiders on Sunday. As much as he’ll be missed on the field, we certainly hope he’s able to process and heal in the wake of such a tragedy.
