10. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are now 7-6 after defeating the Detroit Lions on Sunday. As much as I don’t like to admit it, the Broncos deserve some credit for fighting their way to a winning record this late in the season despite what is arguably the worst quarterback situation of all the teams on this list. While their solid rushing attack and defense make them a team that can’t be overlooked, that quarterback situation does limit their upside.

The Broncos’ remaining schedule also isn’t a cakewalk.

  • vs Cincinnati Bengals
  • at Las Vegas Raiders
  • at Los Angeles Chargers
  • vs Kansas City Chiefs

I feel like the best-case scenario for the Broncos with that schedule is probably going 2-2 and I just don’t see 9-8 as good enough to get them into the playoffs this season. If the Broncos can find a better quarterback this offseason then they could be a real problem in the AFC next season.

Next up, another team that has some long-term potential but isn’t quite up to the challenge this season.
