This one is for all the marbles, or so they say. NFL analysts and fans of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers have been pointing to Week 15 as the ultimate showdown in the AFC West. It makes sense given that the two teams are the top two in the division with only a single game between them.
The Chargers won the first of two scheduled games between them back in Week 3, but that feels a lifetime ago for the Chiefs. Kansas City’s defense has come alive since that first meeting and is playing like the league’s best overall unit in the last six games. In that first meeting, the Chiefs were without several important contributors and weren’t riding a six-game win streak as they are now.
That said, the Chargers are at home and are coming off of big wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants in recent weeks. If they can win on Sunday, they’ll hold the edge over the Chiefs with a very easy schedule the rest of the way. That means they would likely own the division title and a postseason berth with a victory on Thursday.
