The Kansas City Chiefs are ready to kick off the second “half” of their schedule—that is, the part after the bye week—in Week 13 against the visiting Denver Broncos. In a typical season, we’d have already seen Denver once given that these teams play twice every year, but the regular season schedule-makers decided to put both K.C.-Denver contests late in the year in 2021.

The Broncos have gone from trading pass rusher Von Miller this year to maintaining a grip on second place and a winning record in the month of December. They certainly deserve credit for that much, but it’s going to require a road win at Arrowhead in order to get anyone outside of Mile HIgh to really give this franchise any credibility in 2021.

As for the Chiefs, they’re coming out of the bye on a four-game win streak with an extra round of rest for several minor injuries. That’s good news (unless you’re Denver) that should help them gain the edge in Week 13 in primetime.

Chiefs Injury Report vs Denver Broncos Week 10

The Chiefs are going to be watching the situation at right tackle before the game to get a good read on their options after going with Andrew Wylie in each of the last two games before the bye. Kyle Long rejoined the active roster this week and Lucas Niang returned to practice, but Niang was ruled out already, so stay tuned for what reporters are saying just before kickoff on Sunday night.

Melvin Gordon injury update

The Broncos offense has a nice array of weapons at its disposal but the backfield will be ailing a bit with Melvin Gordon out for the contest. Denver had already designated him as doubtful heading into the game with hip and shoulder injuries, which means the Chiefs will see plenty of Javonte Williams on the ground.

Chiefs vs Broncos Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 13

WynnBET’s Week 13 NFL odds have the Chiefs favored by 10 points even though a single game separates both teams. The Chiefs are getting a home odds boost plus another touchdown, so oddsmakers clearly don’t see these teams as anything close to equal despite the AFC West standings. The Broncos could certainly come into Arrowhead with some extra motivation, but what they could really use is some more overall talent.
