Now that the Kansas City Chiefs are enjoying far greater success these days than they were, say, a month or two ago, you’re likely paying far less attention to the 2022 NFL Draft than before—at least that’s true for us. After all, the same dreams we all had for more Super Bowl glory for the Chiefs in 2022 are still alive as ever with the team playing as well as ever and the rest of the AFC looking mortal.

Still, we like to check the pulse on these things from time to time (and check back here for a great mock draft overview coming later this week) and it’s been a while since we’ve surveyed the NFL Draft order. What’s amazing about this coming draft is going to be the number of teams with multiple picks in the first round.

As things stand right now, the Seattle Seahawks, L.A. Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Bears are all missing first round picks this year. That means the New York Jets, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions all have one or more picks with which to rebuild. Reading that list, it’s a good thing for those teams knowing the work ahead of them.

As for the Chiefs, according to Tankathon, they currently would have the No. 25 overall pick in the first round if the season magically ended today. Here’s a look at what their overall selections would look like—at least in terms of the numbers involved.

  1. First Round (No. 25)
  2. Second Round (No. 57)
  3. Third Round (No. 89)
  4. Fourth Round (No. 127)
  5. Sixth Round (No. 210) (Orlando Brown trade from Baltimore Ravens
  6. Seventh Round (No. 231) (Mike Hughes trade from Minnesota Vikings)
  7. Seventh Round (No. 236) (Yasir Durant trade from New England Patriots)
  8. Seventh Round (No. 243)
