You can almost start to feel bad for the Denver Broncos at this point, that is if you have very few memories of actually hating them. The rivalry between the Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs has grown rather lopsided in recent years, as Andy Reid and company have reeled off 11 consecutive victories over Denver since the 2015 season. Yes, that’s a long time.

Barack Obama was President of the United States. Periscope had just debuted. Mad Men was completing its run. That’s how long it’s been since Denver proved itself to be a real threat against the Chiefs. In the last two years, with Vic Fangio at the helm, the deficit has grown even wider in terms of the final score (the Chiefs have outscored them by 77 points in the last four games). That’s not a good trend.

Can the Broncos stop the streak at 11? Will the Chiefs embarrass them once again? The Broncos, to their credit, are 6-5 and just one game behind the Chiefs in the West, so there’s reason to believe it will be more competitive than previous years. Let’s see what our writers expect in Week 13.

Game isn’t close. Broncos stay within a score most of the way but never really threaten, Chiefs come out of the bye refreshed and ready for the stretch. Chiefs 31 Broncos 21

After an undefeated November and a much-needed bye week for Kansas City, expect the Chiefs to blow Denver out of the water. Of course, Denver is no pushover, but with Andy Reid’s teams being 19-3 all-time after the bye and 7-1 after a bye with Reid at the helm in Kansas City, this is a safe bet. Chiefs 45, Denver 21

It’s easy to overthink this one and give the Broncos defense too much credit without Von Miller or believe the Chiefs might not have the level of intensity or emotion to match the Broncos here. But all you need to say is Andy Reid vs. Vic Fangio or Patrick Mahomes vs. Teddy Bridgewater to re-establish the correct way of thinking. Chiefs 31, Broncos 13

Sunday night brings the loudest crowd of the regular season to Arrowhead and the defense thrives on it. Gonna see at least two turnovers and three sacks. Chiefs 27Broncos 10

In recent weeks, the Chiefs and Broncos have seemingly found their rhythm. The Chiefs have yet to play their best game and Andy Reid is like a 900-2 off of a bye week. Look for the Chiefs to remind the NFL that they are still the team to beat and that the Broncos are the least talented team in the AFC West. I would expect a Mahomes special in this one. Chiefs 31, Broncos 16

The Broncos are coming off a solid divisional win and want to repeat that this week, but face an improved Chiefs defense. The big question with the Chiefs is: which offense shows up? Chiefs 31, Broncos 17
