Mike Remmers

Mike Remmers has been a proven performer along the Chiefs offensive line for the last year-and-a-half, and it was clear after last season just how valuable he could prove to be as an in-a-pinch role player up front—hence the reason the Chiefs re-signed him.

While Niang was able to avoid injured reserve, Remmers was not, which says a lot about just how badly he hurt his hamstring. The Chiefs watched Remmers miss two complete games before then placing him on IR, which is a strong signal that waiting on him to get better was not happening for quite some time.

For now, Remmers is going to miss at least three more games than he originally did, and he’s already crossed two of those off the list. It’s too bad that the bye week cannot count there, but Remmers might not be ready anyway.

The loss of Remmers hurt the Chiefs in a couple ways, removing their super sub in case of other injuries but also removing the most experienced and reliable performer outside for a third of a season now. If he returns, the floor will all least be known even if he lacks the ceiling of other players on this list, too. But that won’t happen until at least Week 14.
