KC Chiefs players who benefit most from the bye week
By Matt Conner
Rashad Fenton
Near the end of the Chiefs’ 19-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11, there was a critical play on which Rashad Fenton went down after making a hit on Zeke Elliott that showed him clearly in pain. In response, Fenton did his best to crawl along the ground toward the sideline in order to get off the field of play and trainers thereafter helped him with medical attention. At the time, replays showed a potential knee injury—a potential hyperextension or something else that looked unnatural.
On Monday of this past week, Fenton was scheduled to have an MRI to see the extent of any damage and define the injury. Somehow the Chiefs never did officially update fans on Fenton’s injury but a source told Matt Verderame of FanSided that the team expected him to be “fine”. Given that no conflicting reports have emerged, and the team has made no movement regarding the injury, it looks as if Fenton really is in the clear.
That said, given that he looked like he was in so much pain, it certainly cannot hurt for Fenton to have crawled right into the team’s bye week, giving him considerable space in which to heal and test his knee going forward.
