Las Vegas Raiders (Week 14) & Los Angeles Chargers (Week 15)

Kansas City’s matchups against the Raiders and Chargers cap off a crucial stretch of three-straight division games in December that will be pivotal in deciding who wins

Kansas City has spent most of the season in last place in the AFC West, but with the Raiders and Chargers both stalling in recent weeks, the Chiefs once again look like the dominant force in the division. Las Vegas got destroyed by the Chiefs on Sunday night, with Kansas City dominating on both sides of the ball in their most impressive game of the season so far. On the flip side for the Raiders, it was their worst game of the season and followed a lousy loss the week prior to the New York Giants.

The Raiders seemed like contenders for the AFC West crown after they started off 3-0, but four losses in the last six weeks – combined with a myriad of off-field incidents – has seen them fall off the pace. Las Vegas still has a winning record, but after the way the Chiefs dominated them across the board on Sunday, their Week 14 matchup certainly seems far less imposing.

The Chargers were impressive to start the season, and at 4-1 with a win over the Chiefs under their belt, they looked like they might be the best team in the AFC West. But since Week 5, they have only managed one win in their last four games. Their most recent loss came against the 3-5 Minnesota Vikings in Los Angeles, a disappointing game for LA that saw them held to just 253 total yards on offense.

While the Chargers did get the better of Kansas City back in Week 3, the Chiefs had over 430 yards of offense and only lost by six points despite their four turnovers on the day. The Chargers may have got the W, but it felt more like a game the Chiefs lost than LA won.

Los Angeles are still a solid team and are more competitive than they have been in previous years. But given their recent struggles and having dropped from 4-1 to 5-4, Kansas City should be favorites when they meet in Week 15.
