There’s no doubt that the Kansas City Chiefs are feeling good these days. The saying goes that winning cures everything, and that’s certainly proving true for a Chiefs franchise that’s been frustrated almost all season long in 2021.

After a couple of months of frustrating play on both sides of the ball, the Chiefs have now won three in a row. The defensive issues that plagued the team for weeks—from poor tackling angles to odd playing time decisions to miscommunication on the field—began to turn around over the last month, and a pass rush that was once missing has been found.

On the offensive side, the recent concerns that something was wrong (or even “broken”) have been put to rest after watching Patrick Mahomes and company put up 41 points on the Las Vegas Raiders in the desert. Just like that, Mahomes was back in the fringes of the MVP conversation and the Chiefs became a scary team to play. Knowing that the team is firing on all cylinders, it’s a scary proposition for another team to know they’re up next.

But this doesn’t mean the Chiefs are without issues or questions. They are now a first-place team in the AFC West, but they’re a single loss away from losing the ground they’ve gained. They might be too far back to other AFC contenders to even think of a first-round bye. And there are personnel things to discuss as well.

If we’re being honest, these are the questions that we find ourselves asking about the Chiefs at midseason.
