There’s going to be one primary question asked by fans around the National Football League this week as they check for news and scroll social media in hopes of the answer: Where is Odell Beckham Jr. going to sign?

The latest reports for the free-agent wide receiver state that he wanted to “sleep on” the decision of where to play next given that he’s just now hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career. The Cleveland Browns and Beckham’s reps were able to work out an amicable solution to Beckham’s hopes to change teams, and the Browns released him after voiding the final two seasons on his extension.

Beckham went unclaimed on waivers on Tuesday given the enormity of his contract at nearly $8 million that simply would have been tough for many contenders to swallow. It also doesn’t help that Beckham’s history includes injuries and drama, which likely made some teams shy away completely.

In his latest report, Ian Rapoport goes through a list of five teams he believes to be solid destinations at which Beckham could land. He does note that this doesn’t necessarily mean he has solid information that the teams themselves are interested at this point in time, and that likely applies mostly to the Chiefs.

Overall, Rapoport mentions the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New England Patriots. The Packers seem like the favorites to sign him based on the intensity of rumors when he was first released with reports noting interest on both sides. The Patriots were also pretty strong and it seems like the Chiefs would actually be the longshot here. Then again, Rapoport notes the following:

“The Kansas City Chiefs have never shied away from a big-time skill weapon guy. They signed Josh Gordon but it hasn’t really worked out like they hoped. That’d be another one to consider.”

For the Chiefs, it’d be an admission that Josh Gordon hasn’t worked out and would require further finances to jumpstart this offense. It also invites whatever distraction or drama took place in Cleveland to potentially take root in K.C. as well. That hasn’t stopped fans from being hopeful and Nick Wright from offering him BBQ for life.
