The Kansas City Chiefs came away with a narrow 20-17 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. If you read the reactions from Chiefs fans on social media, many are unimpressed. If you did not watch the game but read the reactions, you would have thought that the Chiefs lost.
It was an ugly win, and there were a lot of negatives from Monday night. One big issue was the play of Chiefs safety Dan Sorensen, and everyone was talking about it. Hall of Famers, reporters, bloggers and avid fans all criticized Sorensen and even cracked a few jokes during Monday night’s game.
NFL fans on Twitter took note of Dan Sorensen’s poor coverage on Monday night.
Sorensen is having the worst season of his career and it is not even close. According to Pro Football Reference, Sorensen has missed more than 20 percent of his tackles, and that has been an issue all year long prior to the Chiefs benching him for Juan Thornhill. However, it was his poor coverage that got Twitter talking.
When Giants quarterback Daniel Jones tried to connect with John Ross in the first quarter, Sorensen heavily interfered on the play. The worst part: Ross still caught it. Needless to say, the Giants declined the penalty and earned a 50-yard completion. The Giants went on to score a touchdown on the drive to tie the game at seven.
Dan Sorensen got a penalty and still gave up a catch.

Sorensen interfered AND allowed the catch. Classic Dan Sorensen.

Twitter reacted to Sorensen again after he allowed Evan Engram to pass through for a touchdown. Sorensen attempted to dive to bat down the pass, but missed.
That "Target Dan Sorensen" play is working out pretty well for the Giants, huh

I promise when I saw Sorensen was in the game, I expected something bad to happen.

Ah the old "find Dan Sorensen in coverage" play

It is hard to explain why the Chiefs still keep playing Sorensen. Any time he is on the field, bad things happen to the Chiefs defense. Sorensen has allowed 18 completions off 22 attempts for 295 yards, per Pro Football Reference. He’s allowing a completion on almost 82 percent of the passes thrown at his direction while allowing 16.4 yards per completion.
The entire world can see it.
You can rearrange the letters in Dan Sorensen to spell Rad Nonsense.

Playing Sorensen at this point is a fireable offense. He literally may be the worst defensive player in football.

For Andy Reid to fix the Chiefs he somehow has to get Patrick Mahomes one game against Daniel Sorensen

I fault Andy Reid and Spaggs for continuously putting Serenson in the gm. How many plays does one give up b4 you bench him?
— shannon sharpe (@ShannonSharpe) November 2, 2021
Keep telling Chiefs keep Sorenson outta the gm IF* u wanna win. They won’t listen

I did not see the Manning Cast on ESPN2. I did DVR it and will watch later today because I want to hear Peyton and Eli discuss the Chiefs woes this year. According to social media, Peyton heavily criticized Sorensen for his poor play.
Whether you are a fan or a Hall of Famer, everyone can see Sorensen is a massive liability.
Ya no shit it’s all people who know nothing about the game

Well, almost everyone.
