The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot more on the line than their opponents in Week 8

For the New York Giants, there’s very little in the way of expectations for Monday Night Football. It’s a chance for a young team to come out and give another team their best efforts in the hope of showing further growth while also knowing this year is primarily about building a future foundation toward something sustainable under head coach Joe Judge.

For the Chiefs, the alarms have been sounded. They are already one game under .500 and this is the easiest game on the entire schedule for the Chiefs. If they can’t even out their record and recover at least somewhat from last week’s embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans (which had a final 24-point deficit), then the season should be declared over and done. (Then again, some fans are doing that already).

Can the Kansas City Chiefs turn things around against the New York Giants?

The problem for the Chiefs is that a long stretch of tough games lie ahead for them. The Green Bay Packers are going to be perhaps the toughest opponent on the schedule in 2021 and is a game that’s been circled for months. The Las Vegas Raiders are leading the division at 5-2 and split the season series last year against a better Chiefs roster. The Dallas Cowboys look as offensively potent as the Chiefs and their defense isn’t nearly as porous.

That means the Chiefs simply have to right the ship against the Giants in Week 8. Will Daniel Jones and company roll over or rise up? It’s hard to know what to predict given the Chiefs’ fortunes as of late.

For those wanting to watch the game, it’s another primetime contest for K.C., but it’s their first and only appearance on Monday night this season. Both teams are scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m. C.T. If ESPN does not work for you and you’re looking for a streaming option, our friends at Fubo TV have you covered.
