The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting in the AFC West basement at 3-4 and have been in last place for much of the regular season so far. They also have a brutal schedule coming up, which leads us to wonder: how should the team approach the looming NFL trade deadline?

The NFL has set a deadline of 4:00 p.m. E.T. on Tuesday, November 4 for teams to submit any trades for the rest of the season. That’s not to say teams cannot add players via free agency after that point, but if a team wants to acquire some help via trade or sell off assets knowing their season is over, then that is the deadline by which a franchise has to determine their trajectory.

The Chiefs are not only 3-4, but they have been outright embarrassed in two of the last three weeks. It also doesn’t help that the upcoming schedule can look brutal based on present results. The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are dangerous NFC opponents who face the Chiefs in the second half of the year, while the Cincinnati Bengals also await the Chiefs near season’s end. In between, the Chiefs have to face their AFC West rivals multiple times in a year where the Chargers are legitimate and the Raiders are actually winning.

How should the Chiefs call it? Should they think about selling? Do they need to push forward and try to acquire some help to overcome the hurdles they face on defense? We discuss all of this and more on the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast.
