It seems impossible for things to get any worse for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021, but fans have likely already thought that for a few weeks now. Yet on Sunday, the team suffered another humiliating loss against yet another contender in the AFC.

This time, the Tennessee Titans mopped the floor with the Chiefs in a 27-3 battle that featured poor performances on both sides of the ball and featured questionable coaching decisions left and right. The game felt over at halftime with a 24-0 deficit, and the same issues that have plagued the Chiefs all season continue to hang around—the lack of a pass rush, a defense that cannot create takeaways, an offense that turns the ball over.

It feels silly that the Chiefs would ever lose to the New York Giants, but the Chiefs aren’t even stomping on inferior teams at this point. Yes, they are beating them, but the Philadelphia Eagles hung around far too long (and Jalen Hurts looked like a Pro Bowl QB against K.C.) and the first half against the Washington Football Team was ugly.

At this point, it seems safe to say that no one should assume anything about the Chiefs, no matter if the opponent seems to be a lesser one or not.

Chiefs vs Giants Odds Week 8

The Week 8 betting odds on WynnBET have the Chiefs as 9.5-point favorites with the Giants coming to town. That goes against what we just said, so this seems like a decent bet to take. It might be easy to predict a bounceback game for the Chiefs, and as fans, we’d love to see some emotional response to the way they’ve played in the previous seven weeks. However, that’s wishful thinking at this stage.

The Chiefs have -420 moneyline odds, while the Giants are the underdog on Monday at +335. The total for the game is set at an over/under of 51.5 points.

Chiefs vs Giants Prediction Week 8

While we caution anyone who wants to believe in the Chiefs at this stage, it also feels right that they would continue to run the table against the NFC East in some sort of display of overall mediocrity. The Giants are not a great football team and a veteran club with something to prove like the Chiefs should be able to feast in a game like this. Then again, we also thought they wouldn’t be in the AFC West basement at this point either.

Prediction: Chiefs 28, Giants 17
