3. Week 7 @ Tennessee Titans

For all of his success as a head coach ever since arriving in 2013, Andy Reid hasn’t quite figured out the Tennessee Titans.

Yes, the Chiefs took their last minute pretty easily after going up shortly before halftime in the AFC Championship two seasons ago. The Chiefs won by a final score of 35-24 after being down 17-7 by reeling off four straight touchdowns to go from behind to up by 18 within the span of two quarters. To be fair, the Chiefs are doing that to most teams these days.

But before that, however, the Titans were the odd team that seemed impossible to overcome. In fact, any idea of facing the Titans typically makes the stomach of a Chiefs fan turn just a bit knowing that Tennessee so often has K.C’s number.

Consider how much success Reid has had in his career in Kansas City. It feels funny to know he’s only 2-4 against the Titans, with the only wins coming either in 2013, in his first-ever meeting with the team as a Chiefs head coach, or the last game in the postseason. In between were a series of sucker-punch losses including that frustrating Wild Card loss to Marcus Mariota and company to end the 2017 season.

For all the Chiefs rushing woes, no runner is more feared in the NFL than Derrick Henry. When you add to that plenty of other impressive talents on offense and playmakers and defense and you have a team that should never be overlooked, no matter how sad the AFC South can seem this season.

Former Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel has turned into a helluva coach and this Week 7 game is going to be a close, competitive battle either way.
