The defense can get better

Admittedly, this is probably the hardest thing to believe moving forward for the Chiefs. Boasting one of the worst defenses this season, and one of the worst defenses the Chiefs have had in years, it will be an uphill battle for this defense to even ascend to average play.

However, the bright side is the defense can only get better from here. With 5 games against teams in the bottom half of the league in terms of scoring (Steelers, Giants, Broncos, Raiders, and Packers) there is room for this defense to ride the coattails of a likely hot offense to a winning streak.

With a similar roster to last year’s Super Bowl team, this defense has the talent to pick up the slack and make sure teams don’t gouge them for 35+ points week after week. Any amount of improvement from this unit will be better than the performances thus far in 2021. The good thing moving forward is there is time to improve, and the offense as well will only get better in terms of turnovers and making sure the other offense isn’t on the field as much as possible.
