As we begin to approach the season’s midpoint so far in 2021, the K.C. Chiefs still have a number of young players for whom each passing game of experience is a vital step forward—at least hopefully—in their overall progression.

The Chiefs started the season with the youngest starting lineups overall in the NFL for the first two weeks, which points us to the overall ceiling of the team being one that will need some time to uncover. First year players are acclimating. Second year players are making the leap. Third year players are setting in. It’s the process that every player goes through in his own time.

All of this means that if the Chiefs can stay healthy, they can expect certain guys to likely be much better at their jobs that they were earlier this year. Further film study and a greater breadth of experience with the team should have given the team’s prospects a real chance to grow this season.

We wanted to take a closer look at the players for whom this second half of the season could provide an ideal showcase for their talents and give the Chiefs a much greater boost overall heading into the winter months where such momentum could really help.
