Kansas City Chiefs @ Washington Football Team Preview

The Chiefs are in need of a boost. After yet another disappointing finish against the Bills, Kansas City wants to be able to rebound quickly to save the season. The Washington Football team is looking to stay competetive in the NFC East and will be hoping they see the version of the Chiefs that showed up tp play the Bills last week.

If the Chiefs wanted to send a message to the rest of the league after a slow start, there is no better time than this week. The Washington Football team has the 27th ranked defense in terms of yards allowed and 31st in points allowed. Additionally, the team has Taylor Heineke under center and a one dimensional offense. If there is a team that the Chiefs could throttle, it’s the Washington Football team.

Prediction- Kansas City Chiefs: 38 Washington Football Team: 27

While it would be lovely to say that the Chiefs will win by 40 or something, we have to be real with ourselves. The Chiefs have not lived up to expectations, especially defensively. In order to have a commanding victory, the defense needs to make plays and stops. So far this year, the Chiefs have allowed the most points per game and the second-most yards per game. The likelihood of them blowing the doors off of Washington is unlikely.

That being said, the Chiefs could win by a couple of possessions, and that is what I am expecting. The Chiefs will need to avoid turning the ball over, but if they can have an offensive game that is comparable to the Eagles game, they should score at will. Washington has been unable to slow teams down. Look for the offense to show out this Sunday.

Player of the Game: Tyreek Hill

The offensive line has given Patrick Mahomes adequate time to throw the ball. If Mahomes can begin to trust the line, Tyreek Hill is going to be the biggest beneficiary. Hill is, by all accounts, unguardable. With tremendous speed and burst, Hill can flat out run around the defenders that Washington has in the defensive backfield.

In the backfield, Washington has former Chief Kendall Fuller, former Bengal William Jackson, and former Giant Landon Collins. While these are all big names, they have all played like they are overrated has-beens. Sporting the 28th ranked pass defense, Washington has two interceptions so far this season. Only one has come from a defensive back.

Mahomes will likely torch this defense and Hill will be the big winner. Expect Hill to catch at least six passes and garner 10 or more targets.
