As if there weren’t enough reasons to wait for and watch Sunday Night Football in Week 5 with the high-profile matchup between AFC powers like the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, there are also plenty of great prop bets to consider as you prepare for Sunday’s action.

There are a lot of key players involved in Sunday’s game, which will bring in a lot of dollars from bettors, to be sure, but the matchup between these teams could be misleading for those who haven’t been playing close attention. The Bills looks like a powerhouse team ready to sweep through a weak AFC East and a conference where everyone has clear weaknesses. Given the way their offense is playing, they look ready to carve up a disappointing Chiefs defense.

On the flip side, no one should ever count out Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs owned the Bills in both of their meetings last season. How will a new year affect the matchup?  It’s hard to say, but a lot of it will come down to the way a few players perform.

KC Chiefs: 3 best prop bets for Week 5

Check out these three prop bets we think are the best to take this Sunday. All odds listed come courtesy of WynnBET

1. Josh Allen – Passing Attempts (39.5)

Going with Josh Allen’s passing attempt might be an odd prop bet to lead with here, especially since we’re telling you to take the over on a guy whose line is basically being set at 40. That’s a lot of passing attempts and the Buffalo Bills defense has been very solid this year, which could help keep a shootout with the Chiefs somewhat in check.

It all seems that way at least until you look a bit beyond the surface stats.

The only times Josh Allen has thrown less than 40 passes in a game this year are in the games in which the defense shut out their opponents. That was in Week 2 against a Miami Dolphins team that was dealing with a backup quarterback in Jacoby Brissett and Week 4 against the Houston Texans, which is basically an expansion team.

To put it simply, if the other team makes it a game, Allen generally feels the need to put the game on his shoulders and throw, throw, throw until it either works or it does not. And the Chiefs, having owned the Bills twice last season, are clearly going to make a game of it. Take the over.

Pick: Over (-130)
