The tie-breaker

This one is obvious. The Chiefs can either exit the weekend with crucial tie-breakers over two AFC contenders in the Browns and the Bills or they can limp into Monday morning with a record of 2-3 and on the wrong end of tie-breakers to the Ravens, Bills, and Chargers.

Remember, there is now only one playoff bye week one each conference and that slot is reserved for the top seed. It is far, far easier for a team to make the Super Bowl when it only has to win two playoff games to get there, not to mention the top seed gets to play at home. The Bills are 3-1, so a KC victory makes both teams 3-2 with the good guys owning the breaker. A win on Sunday could well mean the difference between the Chiefs playing the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead instead of in Buffalo.
