Week 4: Davis Mills

After filling in for an injured Tyrod Taylor in Week, not much has gone right for the rookie quarterback out of Stanford. That being said, not much has gone right for the Houston Texans as a whole since their Week 1 win of the equally hapless Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coming into this Week 4 contest with a 2-1 record, the Buffalo Bills smelled blood in the water, and who could blame them? The QB they were facing had completed 27 of 46 pass attempts for 270 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception in one relief outing and one start—not exactly high-caliber quarterback play coming out of Houston.

The Bills’ defense went absolutely bonkers against the woefully bad Texans, logging 4 sacks and 4 interceptions, leaving little for Davis Mills to do other than complete 11 of 21 passing attempts for 87 yards and no touchdowns as the Bills defense pitched a shutout. This Bills defense played well, but this Houston offense has been historically bad, with them ranking 29th in passing yards and 25th in rushing yards thus far in the 2021 season.
