The K.C. Chiefs enter Week 4 play with a record of 1-2 and are currently last place in the AFC West for the first time since 2015. Of course, this is not an ideal place to be after a little less than 25% of the 2021 NFL Season has been completed. However, since the schedule came out, it was known the Chiefs had a rough first five weeks, and it’s held that way with rough losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers.

As Week 4 is about to begin, what can we expect from the Chiefs matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles? What should we be looking for from a Chiefs team looking to right the ship and get back to their winning ways after dropping two games in a row?

Expect Clyde Edwards-Helaire to show up in a big way

With over 100 yards last week against Los Angeles, we should expect much of the same from the Chiefs running game moving forward. Thanks to better play-calling, CEH passed the century mark for the first time this year courtesy of over 70% of run plays going over the left guard, right guard, or center. In previous games, the Chiefs ran more plays towards the tackles and edge, and for Clyde, it yielded abysmal results.

The Dallas Cowboys similarly ran 70% of their rushing attempts over the left guard, right guard, or center in Week 3 against the Eagles and gashed them over 100 yards on the ground. Early running success evaded CEH and the offensive line against Cleveland and Baltimore, but it looks as though they’ve found their way and we can expect similar success against the Eagles.
