The folks at Arrowhead Stadium were likely never more glad to see  Andy Reid enter the building as they were on Tuesday when the Kansas City Chiefs head coach returned to work. Following a health scare of seeing him leave the building in an ambulance only two days prior, it’s great to hear that Reid is officially back in action.

According to Tom Pelissero, Reid was back at work on Tuesday as the Chiefs prepare to put a two-game losing streak behind them in order and coordinate their game plan for a road game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reid originally felt ill on Sunday afternoon late in the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers—the team’s first AFC West contest of the year—and the team wanted to take any and all precautionary measures to ensure Reid was healthy.

Andy Reid is back at work for the K.C. Chiefs as of Tuesday.

Reid coached the rest of the game and even addressed the team in the locker room following the loss. From there, however, Reid was taken away in the ambulance as others attended to his post-game needs. Reid remained in the hospital after game, although he was considered stable.

The Chiefs leaned on Dave Toub as assistant head coach to tackle media questions following the game, and it’s safe to assume that Toub would have also played a significant role in guiding the team through the week of practice and forward from there if Reid had needed to take further time away.

Reid is on the verge of being the very first coach in NFL history to win 100 games with two different franchises. He’s missed the last two opportunities after a season-opening win over the Cleveland Browns. Now he might be able to pull off the feat on Sunday against his old team in Philly—a fitting way to achieve the honor.
