KC Chiefs Game Today: Chargers vs Chiefs injury report, schedule, live Stream, TV channel and betting preview for Week 3 NFL game
By Matt Conner
Just like everyone anticipated, the L.A. Chargers and K.C. Chiefs are meeting for the chance to occupy the very bottom of the AFC West in Week 3.
What a topsy-turvy season it has been so far for all teams involved in the AFC West. The Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos are sitting on top, tied at 2-0 apiece. The Chargers and Chiefs are both 1-1, but someone has to lose (unless, of course, they tie), so that means either the Bolts or Chiefs are going to be in last place after Week 3. Sad to say.
The Chiefs are favored by almost a full touchdown (see below) so Vegas oddsmakers clearly believe it will be the Chargers in last following the game, but anyone who has watched this rivalry up close in recent seasons knows how tough the Chargers always seem to play the Chiefs. In addition, Justin Herbert looks like the real deal and went 1-1 last year against the Chiefs.
Let’s take a look at the elements in play for the Chiefs’ first divisional contest of the season.
Chiefs Injury Report vs Chargers Week 3
The Chiefs are coming into Sunday’s game pretty healthy overall with every player able to practice in some capacity or another this week. The downside is that the Chiefs watched both of their best defensive linemen hit the injury report at all this week, and Frank Clark is trending worse by practicing in full on Wednesday and then being limited on Thursday with a hamstring injury. At this point he’s listed as doubtful, while Chris Jones is questionable for the Chiefs.
Joey Bosa injury update
The Chargers pass rusher is one of the few elite forces who can wreck an opposing game plan on his own, but he also comes with an asterisk at times given that injury concerns have kept him from the field for several games in many seasons. Last year, he played in only 12 games, and he started only 6 games in 2018. This year, he’s played in both games, but he’s also missed every round of practice this week with foot/ankle injuries
Bosa comes into the game questionable, so it will be interesting to see if he plays or not.
Chiefs vs Chargers Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 3
WynnBET’s Week 3 NFL odds have the Chiefs favored by 6.5 points on the road. The Chiefs, being the home team, have a bit of an advantage there, but it’s also a bit surprising the see K.C. favored by so many.
Last season, the Chargers took the Chiefs to overtime early in the year at Arrowhead and they won a meaningless final game of the season by more than two touchdowns, albeit against the Chiefs scrubs. That said, the Bolts play the Chiefs tough year in and year out, so it might be smart to take the Chargers even in a likely losing effort.
