The Los Angeles Chargers might be without their best pass rusher on Sunday when they take the field against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. At least that’s how things are trending with Joey Bosa unable to participate in any practice sessions this week due to a foot/ankle injury.

Defenses are already going to have a very difficult time in this particular matchup given the fireworks involved. The star power here is very real for the NFL with Patrick Mahomes leading the best offensive core for the Chiefs, aided by tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill, suiting up against Justin Herbert, who looks the part as the next franchise face for the Chargers, helped out by running back Austin Ekeler and wideouts like Mike Williams and Keenan Allen.

Bosa has been playing just over 80 percent of the team’s defensive snaps, so if he’s unable to go, not only are the Bolts down their best overall disruptor along the defensive front but they’re also going to have to fill significant snaps with the likes of Kyler Fackrell or this year’s fourth-round pick Chris Rumph.

So far this season, Bosa has 2 quarterback hits and 1 sack in two games against the Washington Football Team and Dallas Cowboys.

The Chargers are also missing other defensive figures, which only complicates the picture further. Veteran cornerback Chris Harris has also missed every practice this week thus far, and lineman Justin Jones has also sat things out. Fortunately for the Bolts, safety Derwin James, who missed last season against the Chiefs, went from missing Wednesday’s practice to being a full participant on Thursday.
