The effects of the Baltimore Ravens’ win over the K.C. Chiefs on Sunday night in primetime have been mostly positive for the home team at M&T Bank Stadium, but it’s also quite possible that some bad news might have come out of it for the team’s biggest star.
Former NFL Most Valuable Player and star quarterback Lamar Jackson was missing at practice on Thursday for the Ravens, and Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun noted that Jackson’s already stated that he had a “sore” hip following the game from flipping into the end zone on his final touchdown run of the game.

Injury report will be released in a few hours.
Five Ravens total were not present at practice:

QB Lamar Jackson
OT Ronnie Stanley (ankle)
WR Hollywood Brown (ankle)
DL Derek Wolfe (hip/back)
S DeShon Elliott (concussion)
CB Tavon Young and DT Brandon Williams were both back.
If you missed the flip, it was the final score of the night for the Ravens to complete the fourth-quarter comeback and put themselves in the lead over the Chiefs by a single point with minutes to go in the game. The Ravens went up 36-35 on this play:

Following the game, Jackson was all smiles as the team had avoided another season-opening defeat to go to 0-2, and instead had shaken the “monkey” off of their backs after having lost to the Chiefs in every single contest since Andy Reid first arrived in Kansas City back in 2013. Jackson himself was 0-3 against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs and recent matchups weren’t even close by the end of the game.
That was not the case on Sunday night in which both sides went back and forth down the field on one scoring drive after another. Even at the end, the Chiefs were marching for a game-winning field goal and even had themselves in a fortunate position. Unfortunately for Kansas City, rookie edge rusher Odafe Oweh came up with a game-clinching fumble recovery after punching it out of Clyde Edwards-Helaire‘s hand.
