After a close call in their Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, the K.C. Chiefs are playing the Baltimore Ravens in a Week 2 Sunday night matchup. There has been much conversation about health on this Ravens team on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Historically speaking, the Ravens are 0-3 in the Mahomes’ era in Kansas City, and with a good opportunity to take the series to 0-4, let’s explore three predictions ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

The Chiefs defense will record 3 turnovers

With the return of Tyrann Mathieu, and the potential return of Frank Clark, this defense will get back two of their best defenders. With Mathieu roaming the secondary, we can expect him to shut down running lanes and return to form in the passing game as well.

The Chiefs defense should have a stellar game against this depleted Ravens offensive line and backfield. With the loss of running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins along with starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley, things have gone from bad to worst for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson lost two fumbles on Monday against the Raiders and should be under similar duress against Kansas City.

Patrick Mahomes will throw for over 400 yards

In the past three matchups against Baltimore, Patrick Mahomes has averaged close to 380 yards through the air. And, considering the loss of Marcus Peters and other injuries and movement for the Ravens defense, 380 passing yards looks to be a given for Mahomes in this game.

Facing a Ravens defense that allowed Derek Carr to throw for over 430 yards and 2 touchdowns, Mahomes should run wild against this Baltimore defense. Mahomes has already proven his ability to play at a high level against the Ravens, and he stands a great chance to continue his dominance on Sunday.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire will post 150-200 all-purpose yards

With close to 70 yards rushing against the Ravens in last season’s contest, Clyde Edwards-Helaire will most likely pass the century mark on the ground, especially given the Ravens injuries on the defensive side of the ball. With a new-look offensive line that opened up quality running lanes for him against a far superior Browns front, CEH could have a day to remember on Sunday.

Considering the likelihood that Mahomes has a great day passing, Edwards-Helaire is likely to get some touches in the passing game as well. Clyde has yet to have his breakout game in the NFL, and this Ravens matchup looks to have all the ingredients to make it happen.
