Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, WR

While the Ravens upgraded the receiving corps this offseason with pickups like free agent Sammy Watkins and rookies Tylan Wallace and Rashod Bateman, Hollywood Brown remains the team’s best overall receiver who should still have plenty of growth ahead of him as he enters this third NFL season.

Unfortunately the Ravens were without Brown in practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury and John Harbaugh offered no explanation to reporters about his absence. A hamstring injury kept Brown out for the all three preseason games for the Ravens already, although Brown said before the season that he felt 100 percent.

Sitting out Wednesday’s practice isn’t a cause to sound the alarm in the NFL. Many long-term veterans take the day off on a weekly basis in order to help with long-term health. However, the fact he now sat out Thursday, too, means his availability is going to be in question for Sunday.

The Chiefs are bound to hang 30 points on any defense these days, which means the Ravens will need as much firepower of their own to respond.
