The Cleveland Browns were hoping to have the likes of Odell Beckham Jr. back on offense in their “revenge game” against the K.C. Chiefs on Sunday to start the year out. Things looked positive during the team’s preseason, but apparently he’s not yet healthy enough to play after all.

The Browns have made Beckham inactive heading into Sunday’s game against the Chiefs at Arrowhead after listing him as questionable coming into the game.

Cleveland players have had this date circled on the calendar for some time with the hopes of knocking off the Chiefs in an effort to gain some early season momentum in 2021 and to shake off the monkey from last postseason’s loss in the divisional round to K.C., a game in which Chad Henne helped put the game away late.

The Browns were without Beckham last winter as he continued to sit out the season and postseason after suffering a torn ACL midway through the year in a contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns did well to finish as well as they did considering Beckham is, far and away, their greatest pass catcher.

Still, the Browns have plenty of talent to go around and a litany of new additions on defense who are hoping to help put them over the top. The Browns also have the best rushing attack in the game with the two-headed tandem of Nick Chubb and former Chiefs back Kareem Hunt to go with other pass catching options like Austin Hooper and Jarvis Landry.
