Everyone knows the offseason is a time for NFL teams to reset once again. The slate is wiped clean, a sort of Etch-a-Sketch (dated reference) from the results that have come before it. For teams who are not accustomed to winning, or are even stinging from a postseason loss, the offseason is a welcome time to reflect upon what went wrong and work hard to get better.

But here’s the shadow side of that “clean slate”: The dominance of winning teams are somehow cleared along with the mediocrity of losing teams. For example, somehow analysts and fans of the National Football League always seems to forget just how good the Kansas City Chiefs have been the previous season.

Consider how many times the Chiefs would dominate the AFC West in consecutive seasons only to hear about the incredible potential of the Los Angeles Chargers coming into yet another season. This year, as the Chiefs have mopped the floor with the rest of the AFC in consecutive years, analysts are instead awestruck by the likes of the Cleveland Browns or Buffalo Bills or maybe even the Tennessee Titans.

In fact, fans have more reasons than ever to believe they will dominate in 2021, even as everyone else seems to forget. The good news is that the Browns are on tap for Week 1, so the Chiefs are ready to pour themselves a victory drink after showing up one of the supposed offseason darlings once again.

There are myriad reasons why the Chiefs will beat the Browns on Sunday, but here are the top reasons why they will dominate.
