Football is something that has consumed me since I was a young kid. Waking up on Sundays to the smell of my dad’s (locally) famous chili already going on the stove is a memory that has stuck with me to this day. K.C. Chiefs football dominated our falls and winters, and soon I grew to be a mega fan.

My love grew past the Chiefs, however, and now I have a near-obsession with anything related to football. I consume any sort of media I can get my hands on that has to do with the sport, so of course that obsession bled over into fantasy football.

Listen, I know fantasy football isn’t for everyone. For those of you who do enjoy it, though, you know what fantasy sports can do to your head. I am sitting here writing this minutes after the Buccaneers defeated the Cowboys on opening night of the 2021 season. I am playing against Amari Cooper in 3 different leagues, who just dropped a 40 piece on my head before my fantasy season could even really get started. Guess, what? I am angry.

Previewing the fantasy football side of KC Chiefs vs. Browns.

That is what fantasy football does to us. Well, that is what it does to me, and it is exactly why I love it so much. It gives us something to root for, something to be invested in, beyond our favorite teams. Every Amari Cooper catch was like a dagger to the heart. On the flip side of that, I know there was a random Seattle Seahawks diehard fan screaming in joy after every one of Cooper’s catches. Yin and yang.

All of this is just to introduce myself and my love of fantasy, because from here on out, I am going to be taking a deep look at each one of the Chiefs opponents every week, and giving you fantasy advice based off of the match-ups in those games. I will give you a weekly start and/or sit, but I will also tell you what you can expect in the individual match-ups of some key players.

Obviously you are going to be starting Patrick Mahomes if you have him, but if he is facing a particularly great pass defense, we can go over why Mahomes might not have the best game, and how that will trickle down to the other playmakers in your lineups.

This brings us to Week 1, where the Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on the Cleveland Browns. This game is a rematch of the divisional round of the playoffs last year, and the Chiefs are on a revenge tour of sorts, so this game is shaping up to be an exciting affair. From a fantasy perspective, a lot of big names are looking to take the field and make an impact. So without further ado, let’s get to my start of the week.
