Rookie of the Year: Creed Humphrey

I was split between Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey but I believe we will see the biggest upgrade year over year from Humphrey at center. Austin Reiter was fine and wasn’t necessarily   an issue, but he also never got great pushes in the run game and there was room for improvement there. Creed is a huge center and if his game translates to the NFL, I think it will no question, he should be a massive upgrade not just in protecting Patrick, but in opening holes in the run game.

Spending a 2nd round draft pick on a center isn’t a “sexy” pick in the traditional sense but after the offensive line debacle in the Super Bowl, it became necessary. Humphrey might be the best center in the draft and watching him grow with Patrick and the rest of the offensive line for years to come is going to be a joy. Watch Creed move defensive lineman this season and watch the improved run game, especially in the red zone, and we are going to see Creed win Chiefs rookie of the year.

Final Record Prediction

14-3. The Chiefs have a chance to be the favorite in every single game this year. That being said, any given Sunday applies here. While I am not going to say the Chiefs will lose to the Bills or split with the Chargers, I think it is too difficult in today’s NFL to go undefeated especially with the additional game. Injuries happen. This isn’t madden with the injury sliders off. This 14-3 accounts for the general injuries that pop up throughout the season. The Chiefs will have the best record in the AFC and the NFL. As amazing as Mahomes is, I believe he is hands down the best QB in the NFL, inevitably he won’t have his best stuff every single game, it happens to every one. 14-3 feels like a very realistic record with everything included.

Another trip to the Super Bowl awaits and I think the Chiefs come out on top over the… L.A. Rams. Why the Rams? That’s a talk for another day. Let me know your thoughts!
