Earlier this week, the first official depth chart was released by the K.C. Chiefs for the 2021 regular season. It was an interesting look at which positions have an odd amount of roster spots dedicated to them, especially when compared to previous seasons. It also reveals the pecking order at some particular spots of interest.

On this episode of the AA podcast, Sterling Holmes and Matt Conner look over the first depth chart for what they like and dislike. There’s a lot of discussion at running back, tight end, linebacker and cornerback, and some tough questions are asked and answered about the decisions made by general manager Brett Veach at roster cuts.

Beyond that, we get into the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns and make our predictions for Week 1 as well as our offensive and defensive MVPs for the team this season (besides Patrick Mahomes, of course).

Looking ahead, we also ask a tough question: Would you rather have Frank Clark (and the rest of his contract going forward) in 2021 or Jadeveon Clowney (and his one-year deal) at defensive end? It’s a tough call for a number of reasons, but we decide to weigh in on this meaningless question anyway. It’s all here on the latest AA podcast episode.
