No clear WR2

The WR2 position seems to be still up for grabs after the preseason. Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle were all names to pay attention to in this competition. None of them stood out in front of the others during these three games. Each of them had optimistic moments but not enough to call the battle.

On Friday night, Robinson caught two passes for 30 yards, Pringle caught one pass for 11 yards, and Hardman did not record a catch or target. Hardman has been talked about all offseason as a player who will make a big jump in his third season, but are we sure that is going to happen?

In the Chiefs’ three preseason games, here is what each of these receivers did. Hardman caught four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. Robinson recorded four catches for 40 yards. Pringle caught seven catches for 84 yards and one touchdown.

Pringle accumulated the best statistics, but each player failed to show consistency. It may have to be a revolving door at WR2 in 2021 for Kansas City.
