Enshrinement week is upon us, with the Hall of Fame game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys having kicked off the season. More than 100 previous Hall of Famers descended upon the sacred ground in Canton, Ohio to honor the new inductees into their hallowed ranks.

The K.C. Chiefs themselves are beginning to build a resume that could soon put them in the conversation as one of the most storied franchises to this point in NFL history. They currently rank 11th in Super Bowl appearances and 10th in Super Bowl wins, with what appears to be an impressive runway ahead of them with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.

Enshrinement week is a time to reflect on NFL history, and this seems like as good a time as ever to look back through the annals of Kansas City Chiefs history at our favorite team’s own list of Hall of Famers.

Twenty three different Pro Football Hall of Famers have some connection with the team, but I want to focus on the players who spent the majority of their careers in Kansas City. Of those 23 figures, four deserved an honorable mention and 11 make the official list.

The criteria for ranking will focus on whether each player was considered one of the best ever at their position, the subjective value of their position in the context of the overall team, and whether or not they won a championship.
