There would have been some mild rioting if somehow Patrick Mahomes were not included in the EA Sports “99 Club” for the upcoming release of Madden 22, but fortunately the video game makers unveiled the ratings for the K.C. Chiefs star quarterback on Friday and gave him what he deserved.

Mahomes is the most exciting young quarterback in the game and the odds-on favorite to win this season’s MVP award, so it’s no surprise to see the Chiefs signal caller reach the zenith of ratings in Madden 22. Mahomes has already won one regular season MVP trophy, another Super Bowl MVP trophy, and finished second in voting another two times (to Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers) in only three seasons as a starting quarterback.

Mahomes’ best individual ratings in the game can be found in a few key categories like Throwing Power (97), Throwing Under Pressure (96), Break Sack (90), Throwing on the Run (98) and, of course, all manner of accuracy ratings from short (97) to mid-range (93) to deep (94).

Mahomes joins Travis Kelce as another member in the Madden 22 “Club 99” after the Chiefs star tight end was also celebrated earlier this week. The game’s best tight end was also bound for a 99 rating after setting career marks in every meaningful category last season.

The pair of Mahomes and Kelce is also joined by two of the other highest ratings in Madden 22. Tyreek Hill is tied as the highest-rated wideout in the game with DeAndre Hopkins (at 98 overall), and Tyrann Mathieu was ranked as the top safety in the game (with a 95 overall rating).

Next. Chiefs who should prove us wrong in 2021. dark
