The Kansas City Chiefs won’t officially start training camp until Tuesday with the complete offseason roster, but a few dozen players have already shown up early to report with the quarterbacks, rookies, and returning injured players at St. Joseph, Missouri over the weekend.

So far, the Chiefs are getting good news on those players who’ve come into camp hoping to return from injuries, especially in a secondary where Juan Thornhill is hoping to start the season fully healthy after struggling coming back from a torn ACL in 2020. If Thornhill can look like he did late during his rookie season and cornerback Deandre Baker can live up to his first round billing, the Chiefs secondary could be a very special unit overall.

On this episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, both Sterling Holmes and Matt Conner discuss the state of the secondary as well as the start of Chiefs training camp. In addition, we ask how many rookies will line up along the offensive line and what fans should expect from the likes of Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith and Lucas Niang. Will any of them win a job in Week 1? What are our guesses by season’s end?

Finally we give a couple signings we’d still like to see the Chiefs make this preseason as rosters still aren’t finished. It’s very possible the Chiefs are still going to add a few players to the mix, so we gave our favorites. We’d love to hear your take on that as well to hear who you would like to see the Chiefs bring in.
