If you’ve ever wanted an inside look at how National Football League front offices work and what’s behind the role of a general manager, you’re in luck. A forthcoming show put together by former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff is profiling the position of an NFL GM and Brett Veach of the Kansas City Chiefs is one of the participants.

According to guest columnist Michael Holley, who is filling for Peter King this week for the weekly Football Morning in America post at NBC Sports, Dimitroff is piecing together an “unfiltered” look at the general manager job.

So far, Holley says Dimitroff has gotten 15 people involved, a group that includes Veach, Howie Roseman of the Philadelphia Eagles, Mickey Loomis of the New Orleans Saints, and Jason Licht of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A new TV show will feature Brett Veach and other NFL general managers.

While football is the most popular sport in America and NFL coverage fuels 24/7 media channels of every type all year round, the day to day life and responsibilities of a general manager is fairly unknown for a sport in the spotlight. Given the importance of a GM on a team’s ultimate ability to win, it’s interesting that so little is known about the game’s most famous general managers.

If the show is currently being produced, then it’s very possible that Chiefs Kingdom might get a chance to go behind-the-scenes just a bit in the team’s failed pursuits for free agents like left tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. It might also feature the signing of guard Joe Thuney or what it’s like to put together a blockbuster trade for the likes of offensive lineman Orlando Brown, Jr. It’s also possible we see inside the draft a bit as the Chiefs selected Nick Bolton or Creed Humphrey.

Holley had no further details about the show, including what exactly it would involved, where it would run, or how many episodes would be featured. That said, it will be interesting at any level to hear more about the person that Veach is and how he conducts himself in the workplace.
