2. Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos

#2 running back: Javonte Williams

The number two spot on this list was certainly the most difficult decision to make. If not for the acquisition of Javonte Williams, Denver would have lost out on the number two spot. That being said, the Broncos are in good shape on the ground.

While Melvin Gordon may not be the household name that fans clamor about, he is still very good. With a good balance of quickness and power, Gordon can still do it all.

Javonte Williams being added to the mix makes the Broncos even more intriguing. Williams can move the pile and drag defenders down the field. He is explosive and could be a star in a few years. With a chance to develop behind Gordon, the Broncos find themselves at number two.

While there is uncertainty on the offensive end with Drew Lock running the show, there are reasons for optimism in the rushing game. With the combination of Gordon and Williams, the Broncos may take a more “old school” approach to the offense. While the rest of the NFL shifts to a passing attack first offense, Vic Fangio and the Broncos may take the opposite approach.

Gordon Last Season: 215 rushes for 986 yards, 4.6 ypc, 9 touchdowns. 32 receptions for 158 yards and 1 touchdown.
