The K.C. Chiefs have had a lot of roster turnover over the last few years due to the revamping of both sides of the ball by the front office in 2018 and some players just pricing themselves out of Kansas City.

Chiefs fans are widely regarded as some of the best fans in the NFL due to their passion, loyalty, and way they treat players no matter how long they’ve been here and no matter if they’re a superstar or a bench player. However, there are a handful of players who have fallen through the cracks and remain rather under-appreciated by fans for one reason or another.

Today we’re going to be looking at the five most underappreciated Chiefs in recent memory.

Rakeem Nunez-Roches

Former Chiefs defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs to bolster the defensive line. Earning the nickname “Nacho”, Nunez-Roches was a high-energy player and locker room presence for the Chiefs. Recording 1.5 sacks, 31 solo tackles, and 5 TFL in three seasons for the Chiefs, the athletic Nunez-Roches was a solid rotational lineman who could make tackles in the backfield.

Unfortunately for Nunez-Roches, he was released by the team after the 2017 season in a somewhat surprising move. Many Chiefs fans were saddened by the cut, but luckily for Nunez-Roches, he found a home in Tampa Bay and has provided nice depth for the Buccaneers including this past season in which the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl meaning Nunez-Roches is now a Super Bowl Champion. If there was one good thing that came out of the Chiefs losing the Super Bowl, it was Nacho getting a ring.
