The K.C. Chiefs have seen pretty significant changes to the defensive line in the last few days, but the franchise should feel good about the state of the trenches at this point, especially along the defensive interior. That’s because the team was able to convince Jarran Reed to join the roster over a reported seven or eight other teams in free agency after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks in recent days.

Reed was the Chiefs third major import this offseason after also bringing in Joe Thuney and Kyle Long. He adds a well-rounded presence next to Chris Jones and Frank Clark that should make the line more disruptive and much deeper for the sake of a long postseason run. That’s important, especially for keeping Jones fresh.

In other Chiefs news this week, defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon ended up signing with the New Orleans Saints on a two-year contract in free agency. That means that the former second round pick will try to reach his potential with a new team, and the Chiefs will likely then need to bring in a fresh veteran face to go with a likely draft pick next month.

On this latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, Matt Conner and Sterling Holmes discuss the week of Chiefs news and what the addition of Jarran Reed adds to the roster and why it’s a much stronger signing than what some people believe. We also discuss childhood TV crushes, the potential of adding Russell Okung, and other nonsense.
